I Deserve Inspiration (Je Mérite L'Inspiration)

At Je Mérite, I Deserve, we believe that inspiration is the lifeblood of creativity, hope, and transformation.
This week, we celebrate the affirmation “I Deserve Inspiration” (Je Mérite L’Inspiration) to remind you that the spark you’re seeking is already within you—it simply needs the right environment to flourish.
Inspiration is more than fleeting motivation—it’s the energy that fuels our dreams, helps us overcome challenges, and connects us to our purpose.
It’s the quiet whisper that says, “Keep going,” and the bright idea that illuminates a new path forward.
When we affirm, “I deserve inspiration,” we acknowledge that our lives are worthy of beauty, creativity, and a deep sense of possibility.

“Just don’t give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong.”

Ella Fitzgerald

Lesson #1 - Connect with Others
Inspiration can flow through conversations, shared stories, and mutual encouragement. Surround yourself with people who uplift you and spark your imagination.
We explore this lesson with a non-fiction collection of stories -

Lesson #2 - Find What Lights You Up

We explore this lesson with a blog post -
HOW TO FIND WHAT INSPIRES YOU IN LIFE
by Kimberly Drake for Psych Central
Feeling uninspired? This happens at times, but you can get your creative juices flowing again following some easy steps. If inspiration isn’t happening as much as it used to, it can make you feel stuck in a cycle of frustration and self-doubt. Your ability to be inspired isn’t gone forever, but it may need a bit of encouragement to appear once again.

Lesson #3 - Embrace Stillness
Sometimes, inspiration comes in the quiet moments. Take time to breathe deeply, meditate, or simply rest. Light your Affirmation Candle and allow stillness to open your heart to new ideas.
We explore this lesson with a playlist -
INSPIRATONAL INSTRUMENTALS
by Brian Naylor
I've been really into instrumentals lately, blame Andre 3000. Light your Je Mérite candle and enjoy this instrumental playlist.

Lesson #4 - Seek Stories That Uplift
Find films, books, podcasts, art, and conversations with inspiring people can unlock new perspectives. Look for stories of resilience and creativity.
We explore this lesson with two amazing films -
RUSTIN
Bayard Rustin, advisor to Martin Luther King Jr., dedicates his life to the quest for racial equality, human rights and worldwide democracy. However, as an openly gay black man, he is all but erased from the civil rights movement he helped build.

SHIRLEY
Netflix's Shirley and the story of her run for the 1972 Democratic presidential nomination is based on the real life of Shirley Chisholm. In 1964, Chisholm campaigned for and won her first political position on the New York State Assembly, taking up her seat in January 1965, kickstarting a new era of her life.

YOUR RITUAL THIS WEEK
To help you connect with your inner muse, we recommend our “I Deserve Joy” candle. Its uplifting notes of cucumber and honeydew melon are designed to energize your space and awaken your creativity. Light it during your creative rituals, brainstorming sessions, or moments of reflection to invite fresh energy into your day.
Pair it with our Mantra Notebooks, perfect for capturing those flashes of insight or exploring your dreams in depth. Use these tools to turn fleeting thoughts into plans and possibilities.

Inspiration Awaits
Inspiration is not reserved for a select few—it belongs to you. Whether you’re seeking small sparks of joy or profound moments of clarity, trust that the inspiration you deserve is ready to find you.
You are worthy of a life filled with creativity, passion, and purpose. Inspiration is already within you—let it out.
