hand wash (recommended)
Prepare to wash by turning inside out (wash alone or with like clothing)
Wash in a tub with delicate or silk wash, cool or lukewarm water
Submerge in water and gently agitate to evenly distribute soap; let soak for up to 30 mins
Rinse clear, until no longer soapy
Do no ring out, gently press the water out
Please note, your silk may release dye
gently machine wash
Wash your je mérite silk products with other silk items in the same color family
Do not wash with other fabrics or colors much lighter or darker
Place items in a mesh bag with secure closure, this will protect your silk from damage
Load in machine, tub should not be full
add silk wash or delicate detergent
start on delicate cycle, cold temperature
Remove from machine and use a towel to soak up excess moisture
Hang garment or lay flat to dry
Don’t dry in direct sunlight
candle care
the first burn
During the first burn, allow your candle to create a full melt pool, which means the wax has melted completely to the edges of the container
This usually takes about 2-4 hours, depending on the candle size
clean the wax
Before each subsequent use, ensure there is no debris, matches, or wick trimmings in the wax pool
Remove any such materials before relighting the candle
trim the wick
Your wick should be about ¼ inch (0.6 cm) in length
This helps prevent excessive flickering, mushrooming, and soot buildup and long wicks can also cause the candle to burn faster!
burn in intervals
After your first burn, we recommended to burn your candle in intervals of 2-3 hours at a time
This prevents your candle from getting too hot and extends burn life
extinguishing properly
When you're ready to extinguish the candle, use a snuffer or gently blow it out
Wax can easily spill when melted, make sure to cool and then apply the cap securely
storage
Store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
Exposure to heat or sunlight for extended periods can cause the candles to melt or fade
remember to recycle
When the wick is burnt away, clean your tin with warm water
Remove all the wax, remove the wick base
Recycle your clean vessel - remember to recycle your packaging too!
