Support is a fundamental need that allows us to thrive. Whether it’s from loved ones, a community, or even through self-compassion, support strengthens and uplifts us.
When you're going through a hard time, there's nothing better than feeling emotionally supported by a friend or loved one.
This week, we affirm:
I DESERVE SUPPORT (JE MÉRITE DU SOUTIEN)
It takes courage to acknowledge when you need support and to reach out to others for help.
By asking for support, you're not only demonstrating self-awareness but also nurturing stronger relationships and fostering a sense of community.
It's a powerful step toward prioritizing your own needs and nurturing your overall mental and emotional health.
Below are some great resources, hand-picked by myself, Tamara Charese, to help you ask for the support you need this week.

MEDITATION
In this guided meditation Jennifer discusses the value of recognizing when a helping hand can be a true blessing and how to have the courage to ask for support.
Asking for support from others does not make us weak or less than anyone else. We all have different paths in life and it is a true blessing to be able to offer what you have to another.

BOOK RECOMMENDATION
As promised, I'm introducing different types of books to our reading list this year. I love self-help books too, but change is good!
This week's recommendation is the story of two friends who you know but it's time you knew them as girlfriends.
Marilyn Monroe’s star is rising despite ongoing battles with movie studio bigwigs and boyfriends. When she needs help with her singing, she wants only the best—and the best is the brilliant Ella Fitzgerald. But Ella isn’t a singing teacher and declines—then the two women meet, and to everyone’s surprise but their own, they become fast friends.
This novel reveals and celebrates their surprising bond over a decade and serves as a poignant reminder of how true friendship can cross differences to bolster and sustain us through haunting heartbreak and wild success.
CAN'T WE BE FRIENDS - A NOVEL OF ELLA FITZGERALD AND MARILYN MONROE

YOUR "I DESERVE" AFFIRMATION RITUAL
Support begins from within. When we cultivate self-compassion and allow ourselves to receive help, we step into a life filled with strength and connection. This ritual is designed to remind you that you deserve support in every way.
Set Your Space with an I Deserve Sanctuary candle. Let the warm glow create a safe and inviting atmosphere.
Write a Letter to Yourself in your journal, write a letter as if you were your own best friend. Acknowledge your struggles, celebrate your strengths, and offer yourself words of encouragement.
Reach Out for Connection by calling or texting a friend, mentor, or loved one. Let them know you appreciate them and, if needed, ask for support. Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength.
Support is all around you—sometimes, all you need to do is welcome it. Let this ritual be your reminder that you are never alone.
“May you have the breath, safety, support, and tenderness required for you to lay down your armor and rest.” - Dr Thema
You are worthy of support, and there is strength in accepting it. Lean into the love and help around you—you deserve it.
