THE GIRL WITH THE LOUDING VOICE

The unforgettable, inspiring story of a teenage girl growing up in a rural Nigerian village who longs to get an education so that she can find her “louding voice” and speak up for herself,The Girl with the Louding Voice is a simultaneously heartbreaking and triumphant tale about the power of fighting for your dreams.  Despite the seemingly insurmountable obstacles in her path, Adunni never loses sight of her goal of escaping the life of poverty she was born into so that she can build the future she chooses for herself – and help other girls like her do the same.  Her spirited determination to find joy and hope in even the most difficult circumstances imaginable will “break your heart and then put it back together again” even as Adunni shows us how one courageous young girl can inspire us all to reach for our dreams… and maybe even change the world.

The movie centers around Asha, a strong-willed teenager, who makes a wish and embarks on a journey to create her own destiny and fight against injustice. "Wish" emphasizes the power of collective action and the importance of individuals raising their voices to make a difference, especially when witnessing wrongdoing. The movie is inspired by Disney's centennial, tying together a theme of most Disney films: wishes coming true

YOUR "I DESERVE" AFFIRMATION RITUAL
Your voice matters. Your thoughts, feelings, and truths deserve space, recognition, and respect. This self-care routine is designed to help you embrace your voice, express yourself authentically, and remind yourself that you deserve to be heard.
Express Yourself Through Writing Journal your thoughts, dreams, and feelings without censoring yourself. Write as if no one is watching—because your truth is enough, just as it is.
Speak with Intention Whether in conversations, emails, or creative work, be mindful of how you express yourself. Your words carry weight—use them to stand firm in your truth.
Sing, Chant, or Read Aloud Let your voice be heard, even just by yourself. Read poetry, belt out your favorite song, or speak your affirmations out loud. Feel the power in your voice.
Connect & Communicate Call a trusted friend, join a discussion, or engage in a space where your words are valued.
Reminder - The world needs what you have to say. Speak boldly. Share your truth.
You deserve to be heard.

This week, challenge yourself to express your truth—whether it’s sharing your thoughts, setting boundaries, or simply allowing yourself to be heard. Your voice is powerful. Your words matter.

As always, affirmations from previous weeks are available here
You'll be hearing more from me soon. Promise.
