Week 27 Affirmation - I Deserve To Feel, Je Mérite De Ressentir

“Everyone is afraid of something. We fear things because we value them. We fear losing people because we love them. We fear dying because we value being alive. Don't wish you didn't fear anything. All that would mean is that you didn't feel anything.”

Cassandra Clare

Dearest Muse,

With so much going on in the world, this week, we focus on giving space for our feelings. Feel the anger, feel the grief, feel the pain, feel the helplessness, even hoplessness... be human, and not superhuman for a change

This week's affirmation is…

I Deserve To Feel

Je Mérite De Ressentir

You're not alone in this... let's begin

As most weeks, we begin with a meditation -

12 MINUTE MEDITATION TO PROCESS YOUR EMOTIONS MINDFULLY

So often we try to ignore, suppress or even shame ourselves for experiencing the emotions we feel. In this practice we are choosing to utilize mindfulness to process our emotions. The final phase of the practice offers affirmations in order to cultivate compassion, healing and inner strength.

Next, an oldie, but goodie...

Here are 13 affirmations from HealingBrave.com

13 AFFIRMATIONS FOR FEELINGS YOUR FEELINGS

The thing about feeling your feelings is: it doesn’t always FEEL good. It’s not always easy

But the more in tune you get with what you’re feeling, the better you can identify and meet your needs

It takes a whole lot of self-awareness and respect

Next, one of two book selections -

THE NECESSITY OF RAIN BY SARAH CHORN

This fantasy book reads like some sort of adult fairytale, delving into the intricacies of loss, grief, and survival

It's a mystical tale of gods losing their divinity, and the struggle to survive through hard, mortal, change

Next, a novel by one of the most brilliant minds of a generation

DON'T CRY FOR ME BY DANIEL BLACK

Jacob is dying, and as his time left shortens, he begins writing letters to his only son, Isaac, who he has not met or spoken to in years. In his writings, he tells Isaac the stories he needs to know about their family. From the ancestral history, going back to slavery, to his tumultuous relationship with Isaac's mother, and experiences that led to his reaction to Issac being gay and his behaviour as a father in general. This is a book about reconciliation, one that covers hard truths with an authenticity and hope.

Lastly an amazing film far more about feelings than magic, but with a great dose of magic as well

FAST COLOR

After years in hiding, a woman is forced to go on the run when her superhuman abilities are discovered. Years after having abandoned her family, the only place she has left to hide is home.

A HEARTFELT RITUAL

A TENDER, HEART CENTERED RITUAL FROM JE MÉRITE, I DESERVE FOR EXPLORING YOUR FULL EMOTIONAL SELF

At Je Mérite, I Deserve, we honor emotion as sacred. Feeling is how we know we’re alive, how we process, how we heal, and how we bloom.

This self-care ritual is your invitation to slow down, to check in, and to allow — without fixing, rushing, or numbing.

A SELF-SOOTHING MORNING SKIN RITUAL - whether it's music that uplifts you, affirmations, or even a podcast that gives you hope, during your morning skincare routine, take a moment to feel

TAKE AN EMOTION INVENTORY WALK - take a 15–20 minute walk this week with no podcast, music, or distractions. Let your thoughts, feelings, and memories surface.

EVENING REFLECTION & EMOTIONAL INTEGRATION - when you settle down for the evening, light your affirmation candle, get dressed in your je mérite, and for 15 minutes or longer, journal everything. Laugh, cry, scream, curse... get it all out

In a world that teaches you to suppress or numb your emotions, choosing to feel is a radical act.

You don't have to hide your heart to be strong.

You'll be hearing more from me soon. Promise.
